Robert C. Grien is a Senior Managing Director at Deerfield Capital Management LLC. Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Grien co-founded Kelso Mezzanine Fund, L.P. and previous to that was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette ("DLJ"). Following the acquisition of DLJ by Credit Suisse Group (through its affiliate Credit Suisse First Boston) in November 2000, Mr. Grien joined DLJ Strategic Partners, L.P. ("DLJSP") as one of two founding Managing Directors and as a member of the investment committee. Prior to joining DLJSP, Mr. Grien was the Chief Credit Officer of DLJ's Investment Banking and High Yield/Leveraged Finance Groups. Prior to joining Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation, Mr. Grien worked as an Associate at Gabelli and Company in New York. Mr. Grien received a B.A. in Political Science from Tulane University and an MBA with beta gamma sigma honors from Columbia Business School.

Michael R. Apfel, Managing Director

Michael Apfel is a Managing Director at Deerfield Capital Management LLC. Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Apfel was a Principal of Banc of America Securities LLC where he was a senior investment banker in the Financial Sponsor Group. He was responsible for managing the relationships for several large private equity firms with primary focus on origination and execution of bank, bond, mezzanine and equity financings as well as merger and acquisition advisory. Prior to joining Banc of America Securities LLC, Mr. Apfel was a Senior Vice President at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown (formerly Bankers Trust) where he was a member of the Financial Sponsor Group originating and executing bank, bond, mezzanine, and equity financings. Mr. Apfel began his career at Chemical Bank (which later merged with Chase) as a member of the firm's investment banking group working in New York and London. Mr. Apfel holds a BS from Guilford College.

James M. Wiant, Vice President

Jim Wiant is a Vice President at Deerfield Capital Management LLC. Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Wiant was a Vice President at Golub Capital where he was responsible for originating and underwriting new investment opportunities. Before business school, Mr. Wiant was an Associate for Deutsche Bank Americas focusing on acquisitions and corporate strategy and an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Salomon Smith Barney. He graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown School of Business with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting and received an MBA with honors from The Wharton School.
